Our holiday in Turkey was amazing. The Country is awesome, but Turkland guided tours ensured we got the most out of every day. Sue and I have just returned to our lovely hotel after a 6 hour food tour through different parts of Istanbul using trams, ferries and of course our feet. Just imagine anchovies and mussels at 10am, beer at 11. The best pickles imaginable a selection of amazing dishes for lunch, topped off with rich chocolate profiteroles and Turkish coffee cooked on coals. And that was just today. Onor, a director of the company, has spent three days showing us the best of Istanbul and teaching us about its ancient and modern history. He’s also a great guy to go shopping with, and patient too I might add. I can’t remember three days I’ve enjoyed so much.
But the whole trip was stunning. The tour of Ephesus, the three day cruise on a gulet swimming with turtles, the balloon ride in Cappadocia and the list goes on.
The hotels were well chosen with great locations, the drivers were on time and helpful and the tours excellent. Ibrahim kept tabs on us every day, I do wonder when he sleeps. He even checked us in on flights.
I can’t thank these two wonderful men enough for the amazing time we’ve had, the wonderful sights we’ve seen and the beautiful people we’ve met.
